About Jonathan

Jonathan Connor Self, MA, PSC is a licensed school counselor, holding a Masters in Counseling from Lewis University (2013) and a Masters in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska (2002). He has been providing youth mental health services for 12 years. Connor is a culturally-sensitive provider of cognitive and behavioral assessments, special education consultation, (cognitive) behavioral therapy, and brief solution-focused therapy.

Connor is a charity leader and a frequent special guest at events around the country, where he educates communities on supporting the mental health of their members. In the past, he served on the leadership board of the Illinois Counseling Association. 

Connor's service model combines Adlerian and Rogerian techniques, mentorship, games therapy, group support, and skill training into engaging activities shared with clients. While he is committed to serving all youth, Connor has special experience and training with child survivors of trauma, children on the Autism Spectrum, and/or children within the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
